Course Administrator

£21,458 - £24,877 per annum

We require a good team player to help administer a range of WMA’s portfolio of courses.

Duties include dealing with customer enquiries, enrolments and examinations, the maintenance of student databases and records, and receiving and processing payments, invoicing and associated reports. Other duties will include liaison with both staff and customers on course organisation, including occasionally assisting with exhibitions and open days.

You will have a good general education and excellent customer care skills, with proven administrative abilities preferably gained  in the Maritime or Education sectors.  You must be a self-starter able to use your own initiative,  work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Lecturer/Senior Lecturer – School of Management & Postgraduate Studies

£36,775 - £49,423 per annum (to include 10% allowance)

Applications are invited for a academic post within the School of Management and Postgraduate Studies.   The School is responsible for delivering postgraduate level degrees, short courses and consultancy services to the shipping, ports and offshore oil and gas industries.

The primary function of this role will be to deliver management level courses including simulator-based training and tanker officer training to international seafarers.  The successful candidate will be expected to deliver existing course material and design and develop new courses for the maritime industry.    An interest in conducting consultancy and research is also desirable for this post.

The successful applicant will hold a minimum of a Class 2 (STCW95) Certificate of Competency (Deck or Engine)  and have significant technical and managerial experience gained from a career at sea.    Experience on tankers is essential.

PART TIME LECTURING OPPORTUNITIES

Associate Lecturer – Medical
School of Maritime Training

You will be required, on a flexible basis, to assist the team teaching medical subjects to merchant navy officers and professional yachtsmen.  You must have hands on clinical experience of your subject supporting your professional medical or nursing qualifications, and knowledge of medical care outside of the established healthcare environment.

As well as medical care you must be able to teach advanced first aid.  You will have recognised teaching skills, preferably holding a teaching qualification.  Experience of working within the maritime or offshore industry is an advantage.
